Renting car with less than a year old license

Rephrasing an earlier question… is it possible to rent a car with a Belgian license that is less than 1 year old ? I see that most car rental agencies in Belgium require a 1-yr old license and unfortunately, mine is only 8 months old. Any suggestions or work-arounds? Appreciate all relevant responses.

is the belgian licence your first licence? are you very young? if so, then the rental car companies know new drivers are likely to have accidents and there is little hope. if you have merely changed your licence from another country, some proof that you have been driving a while will do (i rented a car with a new belgian licence - i am in my 40's - no one made any difficulties)
