Rental scam - Paris

Question

Hello All,

I was in Paris for less than a year and I took an apartment there. It was rented by a landlord from it's neighboring country.

Initially, etat de lieux was provided on checking-in the apartment.
Within a month, I came to know that the apartment should undergo a repair because of water leak (which was already known to landlord). For this I accepted to stay outside for less than a week but atlast the renovation took over 2 weeks for completion. I still did not charge the landlord for that but insisted him to check the apartment after that. He came but did not check the inventories there neither I did, as he said "Everything is good" and as cleaning of floors piled up with cement was also taken care by me.

On the day of my exit, I asked him to be available for check-out procedure. He behaved psychic and planned enough to charge me for few components(which might have got damaged during 18-day repair), I again accepted as the entire budget would be less than 200 euros and as I didn't want to create problem on the last day of my fly back. His behavior was so cruel, humiliated me and intimidated me - with which he got a sign on paper HAND WRITTEN BY HIM ON SPOT IN ENGLISH.He shouted for more than 100 times to me to get out of the apartment and he took away the hand written paper without a copy to me Neither he gave me time to read it nor replied back until today.I am afraid if he had filled more.
It is already 3 months since my return. I would like to get legal advice...Please help.

I tried all ways to get back my security deposit of over 3500 Euros.
