Quick will not have halal branches in Belgium

11:13 30/11/2012

Unlike France, Belgium will not have any halal branches of Quick, the Sudpresse newspapers report. The fast-food chain, founded in Belgium in 1971 but French-owned since 2007, boasts 23 halal branches in France, in towns with a predominantly Muslim population. A comparative study between Quick’s King Fish and Big Bacon sandwiches (one fish-based, the other containing beef and pork) was made in French branches, and the results showed that there was a real demand for halal sandwiches. When conducted in Belgium, the same study didn’t point to the same findings.
