Questions for Belgian citizenship interview

Question

Hi,

I am going to apply for Belgian citizenship and will submit my language proficiency proof, but I heard you might be invited for an interview, or a police officer comes to your house and do the interview with you. Which is true?

Is the interview mandatory?

What kind of questions are asked? I live in Antwerp so I suppose the interview will be conducted in Dutch.

Many thanks in advice~~~

I wasn't asked for an interview, I think it is rather random. I personally know of no one who had to give an interview. I wouldn't be too worried about one.

I wasn't asked for an interview either nor was I asked for proof of my ability to speak Dutch. Presumably the fact that I was able to deal with the whole business - understanding and answering the questions at the commune and completing the paperwork - in Dutch was all the proof that they wanted.

Hello kittycat,

I have just started the process in Antwerp too, have you?
I believe that the process in Antwerp is a bit difference since it's not the comune that review your document but a difference office and once you get the ok (10 weeks after) you can formally make the request.

Have you started already?
Maybe good we get in contact to support each other during the process.

Regards
