Procedure when selling my car

Question

Hi All,

I'm in the process of selling my 5 year old car. I have agreed a price with the buyer and this morning took the car to the test centre and received the demande d'Immatriculation, which I have given to the buyer to arrange her certificate d'immatriculation.

My question is what do I have to do with my own Certificate d/immatriculation? Do I give this also to the buyer or do I return this with my plates after I have sold it? I don't see the point in giving it to the buyer as she will soon her own one from DIV.

Also, does anyone know where I might find a template for a contract or bill of sale I can give to the buyer?

Mimi

Not sure what you do with the old registration certificate but I think you don't have to give it. You can always give a photocopy if they ask for one. You can download a contract form at http://ww2.autoscout24.fr/as24_service_contract.pdf

According to this contract form you cross out your registration certificate, write on it "sold on ...." sign it and give it to the new owner. Do keep a photocopy in this case.
