Prime Minister Di Rupo works the night shift

12:15 18/04/2014

Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo spent last night visiting various night workers on the job. "About 12 percent of all workers work at night,” he acknowledged, “and they carry out essential jobs but are so little talked about."

As part of his election campaign, Di Rupo started his night shift with the Brussels-Capital police of Ixelles. Afterwards, the Prime Minister went to meet with the medical staff at UZ Brussel hospital in Jette. Also on the agenda were nocturnal visits to newspaper group Rossel in Nivelles and Akzo Nobel Chemicals in Mons. Di Rupo also met with the cleaning staff of Hygea in Mons and finished off the night with a visit to bakery Thirion in Binche.
