Question

Hi,
Are there parts of the country where mail is distributed on Saturday? I'm asking because I've only just found out that where I live - Ixelles - there are no mail deliveries at the weekend... :-(
Has this always been the case?

Thanks Sparkles. I'm genuinely amazed that there is no mail delivery on Saturdays... Does everybody find this normal, when France, England etcetera all have Saturday deliveries? I mean what's the hold-up? Paul.

Personally I find it abnormal that the local branch is open on a Saturday morning, this would be unheard of where I'm from.
Frankly I wouldn't want to work on a Saturday either so I can't blame them.

The hold up Paul is an indolent continental custom called 'enjoy your weekend'

Along with such disconcerting ideas as a 38 hour work week, without 24 hour supermarkets, vomit slick pavements, hospitals which kill you, or speaking only one language.
It's a strange place over here, especially when the sun is shining ;)

Didn't Royal Mail buy the Belgian Post Office ? Maybe that explains it.
