Police in the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles unit handed out drink-driving fines amounting to almost €5,000 over the weekend, in a widespread series of spot checks.
Nine drivers had their licences temporarily revoked (for 15 days) after failing a breathalyser test, according to the Brussels prosecutor’s offices.
Some 26 drivers were banned from being at the wheel for six hours, and another 19 drivers were banned for a period of three hours.
The highest concentration of alcohol found in a motorist's breathalyser test was 0.95mg per litre. One banned driver was caught operating a vehicle.

About 90 Euro per driver. OK, I know it's not quite that simple , but still. What gets me are the constant calls for the UK to come in line with the lower continental limits, but still retain a minimum one year ban?
