Hi there
Live in Sydney, Australia but am visiting my family in Belgium. Will be here until 7th August and am wondering if there are any English speaking playgroups or places where I could meet 'friends' for my nearly 5 year old boy and his 18 month old brother whilst in Brussels . Think he is feeling quite lonely.
BCT coffee mornings. You can attend each one once before becoming a member. HQ in Wezembeek. Look at their website. Also St Paul's mums and tots on Tuesday mornings in Tervuren. Most children are in school still aged 5 but you'll find 18 month olds at the above places.

Tuesday 8.45am to noon @ Baboes Centrum: Free play for under 4s accompanied by an adult. Address: Rue de Flandre 159, 1000 Brussels (St Catherine metro). http://www.baboes.be/. Cost: Free. Also open Wednesday mornings (8.45 to noon), Thursday afternoons (2pm to 6pm) and Saturday mornings (10am to 12.30pm).
Thursday - 12.30pm to 6pm @ Espace Famille: Free play for under 4s accompanied by an adult. Address: Maison des Enfants, Avenue d'Auderghem 233, 1040 Brussels (Schuman metro then bus 36, or a fifteen-minute walk). http://www.espacefamille.be/infos-pratiques/. Cost: Free but donations welcomed. Also open Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am to 1.30pm and Thursday mornings from 9am to noon.
Saturday - 10am to 1pm @ La Maison Ouverte: Free play for under 4s accompanied by an adult. Address: 251 Avenue Georges-Henri, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, 1200 Brussels (trams 7 and 25; buses 27, 28 and 80, metro Gribaumont). http://www.lesmaisonsvertes.be/spip.php?rubrique20. Cost: 3€ per family. Also open Monday to Friday 2pm to 6pm.
