Question

Can anyone remind me: what are the conditions one has to meet to be eligible for chomage - is it 18 months continuous employment?
And second, what is that rule about time off to look for work during the notice period - something like half a day per week?

If it's full-time work, I believe it's 12 months. And the rule is that you get two half-days per week to look for work. Some employers might let you combine this to one full day.

Thanks Dani. Do you know if the two half days/week begins as soon as you're given notice? Basically that means for the next three months you are only working 4 days a week- can that be right?

Would any other reader here be able to confirm whether chomage is available after 12 or 18 months of full-time work?
