The screening of the Peruvian documentary Arde Lima by Alberto Castro, organised on the opening day of Brussels Pride Week 2026, offers an intimate look at the lives of drag queens in Peru and sheds light on the realities of the transgender community.
The film explores forms of LGBTQ+ resistance in a South American country still marked by conservatism, while also giving Belgian drag queens the opportunity to discover artistic trends from other continents and the professional challenges faced by their peers.
The director will introduce the film and share updated context about the drag queens who appear in it.
