Question

Hi All,

Commune told me that I can apply for PR in Oct 2020. However, my card expires in Feb 2021.
My question:
Can I request for my 5 yeard card in Oct 2020?
or
should I wait unit Feb 2021?

I hear that even if we apply in Oct 2020, I will not receive any response.

You get PR automatically once you've fulfilled the right conditions, and you'll get an appropriate card next time you renew it.

So no need to do anything. You'll get a new card in 2021.

Trying to make the administrative tasks follow anything other than the normal flow is likely to result in frustration, confusion, and indecision. You don't need the stress.

I got a surprise.

I expected by default that my new card A will have one-year validity.

However, this time I received card A with 4 years validity (according to my research agreement form expiry date).

:-x. Anyone here secured card B, while working on a scientific visa (hosting agreement form)?
