Pension - request for early retirement

Question

Has anyone had the same problem with asking for early retirement - I've made the request (December 2017) through mypension.be after receiving notification that with my qualifying years in the UK I was able to take early retirement on 1 September 2018. Since then, after filling out various forms, nothing further. I called back in June and was told the dossier was with the Foreign Ministry because of the UK years and they were not able to tell me when it would be sorted out - they said a few months. Since then I've seen that in October there was an update on the website that the dossier is 'pending' - pending what, I don't know! Has anyone had the same or similar situation - and what to do next?

The problem probably lies at the UK end because the concept of taking one's state pension early doesn't exist there.

Hope there will be a change in the laws. All countries should accept and recognise retirement at 60 years of age.

I have also recently started a request for early retirement. Go to the pension dept in your local commune and talk to them - take a native speaker if needed. Check on onprvp.fgov.be web site to find where and when yours is open. I am slo waiting for their interaction with Uk so hope it doesn't take so long- december 2017!
