Omnipas 65+

Question

I read some time ago – I think on this site – that the free Omnipas 65+ bus and tram pass for senior citizens would no longer be free from 1 Jan 2013.

I have checked the DeLijn website which only says that passes which expire on 31 Dec 2012 remain valid and will be renewed during the course of 2013. There is no mention of whether they will continue to be free and, if not, how much they will cost but there is the IMPLICATION that they will no longer cover Brussels – irrelevant for me as I never go there.

Does anyone have any further information on the topic? TIA

Well the STIB pass will no longer be free for most over 65s, no idea about de Lijn sorry.
