10:57 09/09/2014

The oldest Belgian, Fanny Godin, has died at the age of 112. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 7 in a rest home in Zoutleeuw.

Born Félicie Florentine Pardon-Godin in Liège on May 27, 1902, Godin was the oldest living person in Belgium since the death of Germaine Degueldre on May 11, 2012. Godin celebrated her last birthday in May with a dance party, as she was very fit for her age and enjoyed every day to the fullest.

The oldest Belgian is now Anna De Guchtenaere of Ghent. She is 110 years old.
