Obama returns to Belgium in June
Just a few months after his visit in March, US president Barack Obama will again visit Belgium in June. Obama first travels to Warsaw to celebrate 25 years of Polish democracy and meet with strategic partners in the context of rising tensions between East and West. In Belgium Obama plans to attend the G7 summit in Brussels, before heading to France for the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
Obama’s visit to Brussels falls on June 4 and 5, during the G7 summit of the world’s seven richest industrial countries. The leaders of the G7 will discuss, among other issues, the global economic situation and the rising tensions with Russia over Ukraine. Obama will be joined by the Heads of State or Government of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK, as well as the presidents of the European Council and Commission.
