Belgian resident permit

Question

Hello,
I am doing European Industrial Doctorate. It means I am worker in The Netherlands and PhD student in Belgium.
I have work resident permit from The Netherlands for a 3 years and I am register in The Netherlands. Now I should move to Belgium for starting academic year in Brussels. I will stay 9 months.
Shall I apply for resident permit ?
Am I allowed to register in Belgium for getting resident permit, if I am registered in The Netherlands?

Thanks in advance.

You cannot physically be a resident of both Belgium and the Netherlands, but if you intend to reside in Belgium for more than three months then you have to start the residential registration process within 8 working days of arrival.

Thank you for your answer.
Do you know some exceptions for students? For example if I do internship in Belgium, need I deregister from The Netherlands ?

You will have to ask the Dutch authorities.

You can be a resident of more than one eu country at a time. I see it particularly frequently with students. Yes you ll need to register as living in Belgium.
