Final week for Océade - buy a piece of it now
If you've always wanted a rope suspension bridge, a pirate's skull or a sauna cabin, today (Tuesday) is your chance to have a nose around Océade water park and put in an auction bid ahead of the park's closure.
About 250 lots are being auctioned off to the public and businesses, as Océade shuts down for good this Sunday, 30 September, including office and locker-room furniture, kitchen equipment, pool filters and pumps and decorations.
Dutch auction house Troostwijk Veilingen is organising an open day for potential buyers on Tuesday. Bids on all the available lots close this Thursday.
Océade's water slides have already found a buyer, fetching €152,000. They will be shipped to Romania for the construction of a new water park.
Open since 1988, Océade is being demolished to make way for a new development, Neo, which will include shops, a Kinepolis cinema and Spirouland theme park. Océade employs 67 staff and attracted about a quarter of a million visitors a year, making it the third most-visited attraction in Brussels.
