Applied for my student visa 4th July

Hello , I applied for my student visa form Yde Cameroon . I have received an email that my documents have being sent to Belgium at the ministre d’etranger to be process . But it’s more than 2 weeks now I can’t seem to track my application online. Any one can help with that and why is it taking that long
I know someone (different country) who waited over a month for a response to a visitor's visa application. Student visas might take longer. A very long time ago when I applied for a student visa I called a number at the foreign ministry. Frequently they didn't respond, and when they did they weren't very friendly. You can try to look up such a number, but unless your studies start in September, I suggest you wait a while longer.
