Engagement de prise en charge/Verbintenis tot Tenlasteneming - Who needs the payslips

Question

I want to do the "Engagement de prise en charge" ("Verbintenis tot Tenlasteneming") for a friend.
I though that I needed to show payslips or similar proof or income at the commune to get the document, but they didn't ask anything.

Now my friend says he need the payslips with the "Engagement de prise en charge" document.
Do I? Who exactly is it that need the payslips?
(The question is somewhat connected to that I a don't have payslips, and I am not sure if my documentation for income is sufficient)

Take what you have to the commune (go with your friend)
A few year's tax returns might help, so take anything like that.
.
I would not set your hopes high. They want to see proof that you have an income comfortable enough for your friend to be able to rely on you totally, and that you or your friend are not likely to become dependent on the Belgian state. They will want to be very sure of your income.
