European health form

Question

Hi my son 24 has just moved to Sweden and is being asked to provide a European health form to show comprehensive cover from outside of Sweden such as E106 E109E121 or S2
Has anyone any experience of trying to obtain these in Belgium where does one apply a Mutelle? What does one even ask for is there a specific name for
Such things here? He's intending to settlemthere permanently his girl
Grind is Swedish he is learning the language and has some Potential work
In the pipeline.
I'd know how and where to ask in the UK abut no clue here. He's lived here since 2011 but we are still British as is he. He did go away to
uni in the uk we have mutelle insurance
Any ideas anyone?

As he has just "moved" there, he may well have no entitlement and will have to take out comprehensive private health insurance instead - one or other will be a condition of being able to live there.

His mutelle will be able to provide guidance on the subject.

From what we read it's universal there for Europeans but we have no idea about any of these forms someone suggest EHIC but it's not listed on the website. Once he's working and has a national number it should be simpler but he needs one of these forms to get one

Ask your son to be more specific. What is he being asked for, a E106, E109, E121 or S2?

Once you know what form he needs, call your mutuelle and ask for the form. All these are standard European forms, and any mutuelle will know what you're talking about and be able to provide them.

You get the forms from your Belgian Mutuelle. Ask them what he needs.

Hi Anon they are all listed as possible forms to use so it doesn't help if he asks they will simply give him that list I've been advised by someone else EHIC arent useful as they are meant for short visit use and we may have to take out a private insurance for him apparently

There is an official list of the relevant forms (S1 now replaces E106, E109 and E121) here http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/work/social-security-forms/index_en...

I really doubt whether any of these are relevant to your son's situation although your mutuelle should be able to confirm this, and, if this is the case, he will have to take out private health insurance which satisfies the Swedish authorities. Presumably you took out similar insurance for him while he attended university in the UK as he wouldn't have been covered by either the NHS or your mutuelle.

"Presumably you took out similar insurance for him while he attended university in the UK as he wouldn't have been covered by either the NHS or your mutuelle."

Sorry - That's incorrect. He would have been covered by both, the NHS while in the UK and the parents mutuelle when he was "home" in Belgium.

- Any EEA national registered as a full time student on a course of more than 6 months is fully covered in the UK under the NHS.
- In Belgium, dependent children under 25 and in full time education anywhere in the EU remain covered under the parents policies.

For the situation now I didn't fully read the question with my first answer, but you're correct, the son is apparently no longer in full time education, no longer the responsibility of the parents, has no job and and has decided to move to Sweden.

He should sign up to a mutuelle here as a independent adult. That way he can get the S1 form, and it would be a far cheaper route than taking out private health insurance.

Hi Anon He was living with us on no income after uni as his MA didn't run, so he didn't have the income to sign up independently. I am pretty sure my hubby continues to pay as he's under 25 and dependant on is.
FYI In the uk they never ask if your entitled if you give a uk address for dental opticians hence all the health tourists and of course he speaks English with an English accent so why would they question him
