Zaventem flight paths?

I recently moved to Braine l'allued. I've enjoyed it and have thought it to be a nice quite area; however, yesterday afternoon, there were many many airplanes flying overhead every couple of minutes. This went on for a couple of hours. What is the deal??? I don't live close to an airport! This was very disturbing.
