BSB alumni awarded Cambridge Blues

12:10 23/04/2013

Two alumni of the British School of Brussels (BSB) studying at Cambridge University have been awarded Blues, the prestigious university sporting award for competing at the highest level. Paul Mallaband, 22, studying engineering at Emmanuel College, featured for the rugby team against Oxford University, while Simon Court, also 22, studying geography at Fitzwilliam College, was picked for the football team, which beat Oxford 3-2. Caron Davies, director of sport at BSB and Mallaband’s former rugby coach, said, “To be selected to play as part of these elite teams is one of the highest sporting accolades. While at BSB, Paul also captained the Belgian national rugby team – that too was a wonderful achievement.” Principal Sue Woodroofe added, “This level of sporting achievement is truly outstanding. We are delighted and immensely proud of these former students.”
