About the Role

The Head of Secondary School is part of the Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to the Principal. The Head of Secondary is responsible for daily operation, pastoral care, staff support and development, communication while supporting the academic coordinators to achieve the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Management

  • Lead the day-to-day management of students and staff in the Secondary School, addressing academic, pastoral, and operational matters.
  • Timetabling, staffing, leading meetings, and monitor resources.

Learning & Curriculum

  • Support IB Curriculum Coordinators to ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and curriculum development.

Leadership

  • Provide inspirational leadership through mentoring, coaching, and performance management of Secondary staff.
  • Safeguard staff wellbeing while maintaining high expectations and accountability.
  • Ensure staff adherence to school policies, professional standards, and BEPS values and principles.

Communication

  • Ensure clear, timely communication with staff, students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Support teachers in parent communication and lead transition processes within the school.

Care & Safeguarding

  • Ensure robust safeguarding, wellbeing, and health and safety practices across the Secondary School.
  • Promote an inclusive, respectful, and supportive school culture for students and staff.

School Development

  • Contribute to whole-school improvement, self-evaluation, and staff appraisal processes.
  • Collaborate flexibly as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will hold relevant qualification in Education. Have proven leadership experience.
