Question

Dear all,

I heard that there new labour laws were passed (last year?) and I want to know what my notice period would be. I am approaching 5 years working soon.

Where can I find current information under the new laws and does my contract operate under these new laws or the ones that were existing before (when I signed the contract 4.5 yrs ago)?

Also to know about rights for maternity leave (I heard these changed too?)

The new regulations apply only to contracts that started on 01 January 2012 or after. You can find info on ending the contract in here: http://www.emploi.belgique.be/defaultTab.aspx?id=3566#AutoAncher1

There hasn't been any big changes in maternity leave lately. The parental leave was prolonged with 1 month last year. More on parenting in Belgium here: http://www.emploi.belgique.be/defaultTab.aspx?id=546
