New Brussels metro map shows walking time between stations
Brussels public transport company STIB has published a new metro map showing the estimated walking time between stations, which ranges from four to 15 minutes. The average distance between Brussels' metro stations is relatively small, making walking a viable alternative.
With the new map, Brussels follows in the footsteps of other major cities such as London and Paris, which also recently produced walking time maps for their underground transportation networks.
The Brussels map is a handy resource for commuters who might prefer to see a little more daylight, or get some exercise between stops instead of standing around waiting for the next metro, writes brusselnieuws.be. More often than not, it takes less time to walk to the next stop than it does to enter the station, validate your ticket and hop on the next train before going back up to ground level.
