new to Belgium - getting internet
I contacted Proximus to install internet in my house, they said they'd come 2 weeks later (2 weeks!!!) which was today . They don't turn up and at the same time I receive a letter by snail mail saying that they can't do any installation until I send a copy of my Belgian ID/residency card. My commune is very slow, and I am unlikely to have this until next month. IS there another way around this? Can't they do it without ID card? I tried calling them but I didn't get anywhere. Already been living in this house for 2 weeks without internet.
You just give them your proof or residency started, the Belgian residency card is only obligatory for non EU anyway. If you've started the residency process, that is what they should accept.
How about switching to Scarlet?
I never had to provide any residency card for my internet service.
The general secret to success in Belgium:
Keep calling and speak to a new person. You'll get a different answer every time and someone is bound to give you service.
HI,
Like all customer cares, there is always some person who is not aware of the process. I strongly suggest that you go to your nearest Proximus shop with your passport and the document you received from Commune mentioning that you have applied the Residence Permit. I am sure you will be able to order your service.
Select the best from the worst! Without a doubt switch to Scarlet. - Reasonable prices and no problems.
