New app offers rubbish collection reminders

The new collection roster for rubbish in Brussels came into effect yesterday, but the changes have proved confusing to many households in the capital. Yellow and blue recycling bags are now collected alternately on a fortnightly basis, whereas they were previously collected together once a week. An app has been devised, reminding households when to take which bag out. The Jaune ou Bleu app, currently only available in Android format, was devised by Michaël Uyttersprot, who had already produced similar apps for STIB and Villo users. It has not (yet) been snapped up by Bruxelles Propreté, but can be downloaded here.
