Moving out - deposit

Hi, we have rented this house for 18 years and are thinking of moving out. Do you think the normal requirements for getting back the deposit are necessary (return to original condition) or after this length of time there has been so much "wear and tear" that there shouldn't be too much of a problem over the deposit? Thanks
It's going to depend on your land lord but I would imagine that yes it would be required.
Wear and tear is one thing though and unless you have that clearly defined then they are liable to hit you up for that if they think they can get away with it.
