More foreigners investing in Wallonia

10:45 23/01/2014

According to the Walloon Agency for Export and Foreign investment, Wallonia is marking a successful 2013 with a record number of foreign projects in the region. Foreign business activity in Belgium’s south saw 78 successful investments, injecting more than 860 million euros and more than 1,500 direct jobs. Of the investment projects, 748 jobs originated from Flanders, which accounts for foreign investment in the official statistics.

Between 2000-2013, Wallonia has welcomed roughly 10 billion euros in foreign investment through 1,142 projects, which have directly produced 24,000 jobs. The top sectors to benefit during the 13-year period have been logistics, mechanical engineering and food processing. However, logistics has seen a decline in recent years. Flanders is second only to the United States in job creation for Wallonia since 2000.

Well in the logistics industry there's really a time that the business will decline because maybe of the economy or the competition. But there's also a time that the industry is booming and you will experience a great increase of ROI. Well maybe if you can foresee the times that the logistics industry will decline you can have an advances solutions for it and execute it whenever something like this will happen so that you will not be affected that much.
