More than 4,000 participants for first Brussels Urban Trail

15:38 06/07/2015

The first Brussels edition of the DH Urban Trail race took place on Sunday, with more than 4,000 athletes participating with a run along some of the city’s most popular cultural spots. The route began and ended at Mont des Arts, and passed by Eldorado Hall in the UGC De Brouckère, writes brusselnieuws.be.

It is the first time that the DH Urban Trail series comes to the European capital, following events in Mons and Namur last year.

The 10-km route began at Mont des Arts and headed down to Manneken Pis, the Saint Hubert galleries and inside the famous Eldorado Hall in UGC De Brouckère, where the runners caught a glimpse of a short film. The racers even visited the Jewish Museum’s current exhibition featuring the works of photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Later this year, there will be Urban Trail races held in Mons, Bruges, Namur and Mechelen, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.
