Monday night drinks with “friends you haven’t met yet”.
Although Couchsurfing (CS) today is most identified as an online community that allows you to travel the world surfing strangers’ couches, many forget its other purpose: to connect (or reconnect) you with your local city.
Indeed, the Brussels CS community is a worthy portal for expanding friendship horizons. Through weekly events like language exchanges, dinners and excursions, Brussels newbies and seasoned veterans alike can forge new bonds all while discovering the city in a new way.
Of the CS Brussels events, a favourite remains the Monday night meet-ups at Café Kafka. Here, locals and their travelling friends come for a weekly drink and chat. Those who muster up the courage to walk into this bar of strangers – or, as CSers say, “friends you haven’t met yet” – will be rewarded: behind the door lie curious, open-minded people looking to kick back, connect and, of course, have a good ol’ Belgian beer or two.
Details:
Where: Café Kafka, Visverkopersstraat 21 Rue des Poissonniers, 1000 Brussels
