Mini-Europe unveils its own mini flower carpet

11:07 16/07/2022

Visitors to Mini-Europe can now enjoy a sneak-preview of the famous floral carpet set to adorn the Grand Place in August, albeit in miniature version, reports Bruzz.

The popular tourist attraction, near the Atomium, is a miniature park that shows off the European Union’s most important buildings and monuments.

"Curious people can already visit the miniature park from today to admire the mini version of the Flower Carpet on a scale of 1/25," Mini-Europe’s managing director Thierry Meeûs, said in a press statement.

"I would like to thank the City of Brussels and the non-profit organisation Flower Carpet of Brussels for the permission we received for the replica of the flower carpet. This collaboration enables us to give an extra boost to Brussels tourism."

After a four-year absence due to the pandemic, Brussels’ floral carpet returns this year with a design that reinterprets the pattern of its first carpet in 1971. The usually  biannual event is a must-see event, a horticultural feat with its extravagant show of multiple blooms.

While the eagerly anticipated floral carpet in Brussels’ medieval square is a four-day ephemeral experience from 12 to 15 August, the Mini-Europe version will be on display for two years.
