metro cheats

Question

Not a frequent metro traveller but whenever I do, I notice so many cheats who pass through the gates "in tandem" one taking advantage of the other's paid entry. Surely STIB is aware of it, but this has continued right from the start of the gates installation. It's frustrating to see this continues - and of course no STIB staff are ever present at stations at most times of day but I don't suppose they would intervene even if they saw these cheats - after all they have cameras to witness this. Any suggestions on where to report and if anyone would take notice ? Any STIB user groups who can put pressure on this plus other STIB issues ? Thanks

J

They have CCTV that will spot the problem
They have teams of inspectors who check tickets
Let them manage the problem with the resources they have available.

@Isabella. Why say "get a life"? BXL is asking for advice in how to report theft. A theft that impacts all those honest people who pay for their travel. Your comment is hardly constructive. And before you tell me to "get a life" too, I have one thank you very much. One in which I shall likely ignore any response you may post unless it is constructive and helpful.
And for those who think "don't feed the trolls", I know but sometimes it's exasperating!

I'm a frequent metro traveller - usually 4 times a day, 5 days a week, and I hardly ever see this kind of thing. Do you live in a a particularly bad area?

@CM
Daily metro and bus user here..
Yes, there are some specific places where you will always for sure see people who don't pay, but you can easily go to Schuman, which I guess is a decent area, and you can see plenty of people there who just walk right through.

Also, I would think the hankar stop is not a bad area and just last week somebody stuck behind me to get through the double door thing. Of course, in places like Port de Namur, Madou, etc, probably happens more frequent....If you ever hardly see this type of thing, is probably cause you don't pay attention.

Passive energy

In line with the current government policy (Belgian), those trespassers should claim "we are actually implementing a strict cost cutting measure."

This is a particular bugbear of mine too. Like others, I'm am a frequent public transport user travelling all over Brussels and I see this every day, especially on buses. It's makes me quite angry. Surely it's pushing the price of tickets up?
STIB should be more strict about it, there are many other cities where this hardly ever or never happens.
