A man has died while out celebrating Belgium's win against Algeria on Tuesday evening in Brussels. The man reportedly fell from a statue he had climbed next to the Bourse.
According to sudinfo.be, the fan, born in 1973, was celebrating the Red Devils victory when at 21.15 he scaled one of the lion statues in front of the Bourse. He lost his balance and fell.
He was taken immediately to the Saint-Pierre hospital where he died on Wednesday morning from his injuries.
Elsewhere, in Starbroek, north of Antwerp, two Red Devils supporters had to be rescued by firemen after they climbed up scaffolding around the local church and were unable to get back down.
