Looking for French course
I am considering an French course at the Brussels Education Center, on the campus of VUB. Does anyone have experience with courses here? I am not a beginner, but am looking to review and hopefully improve some more advanced grammar.
Any other school recommendations (or ones to avoid) are also welcome.
Thank you!
Hi,
I had a very good experience with Brussels Education Courses .
I recommend it
I have just completed a first level course in Nederlands at this campus and find them to be excellent.
Having spoken with others learning French and at various levels, they too consider the teaching to be first rate.
Also it is very good value, especially if the commune in which you live supports it, such as Etterbeek, as you only pay for the text books.
How can one know if the commune supports financially the course? any website?
Thanks!

Visit or telephone your gemeentehuis or the BEC.
I've taken Dutch and French classes with half a dozen teachers at BEC over the past few years and they have all been excellent. Regarding commune support, I think it's only the Dutch classes that are free (apart from the textbooks) if you live in Brussels. The cost of the French classes works out at €1.15/hour, which is still pretty good value.
Bonjour Elisaabeth,
If you are interested by private lesson, i can help you. In my lessons I apply the NLP approach. It sounds very scientific but it is actually fun! It just means that every person learns in a different way: either visual, auditory or kinesthetic. I’ll first analyse your learning profile and then adapt the programme accordingly to your personal needs and level. My lessons are very interactive using a mix of exercises, conversation, animations and games that will help you to improve your French in an effective and motivating way while having fun!

VUB was quite good for French language courses - I did the ALERT course one year and then another course.
There is some funding (at least there was I took the course a few years ago) available - I dont remember the criteria but VUB can advise you - in any case the fees were only about 100 euro for the whole year.
