Looking for family clubs

Question

I am looking for ways to socialize as a family.  Can anyone suggest clubs or sports that could be interesting to look into?  The main considerations at present are - preferably in English though could give French a go; at venues accessible by public transport; and really family-oriented.  Perhaps a walking or outdoors club, perhaps w rowing club? We're low on experience but high in enthusiasm to try!  Thanks for any leads.

You mention a rowing club - how old are the kids?  At Royal Sport Nautique de Bruxelles we have had several families getting involved, occasionally with the youngsters progressing to a high competitive level, but the realities of rowing on a commercial waterway mean that we don't normally have children out in boats younger than 12, maybe 11 at a pinch.

There's a good friendly atmosphere there, a fairly extensive social calendar and plenty of English spoken.  Access by public transport could be an issue - it depends on where you are coming from.  If you are anywhere near tram routes 3 (Centre) or 7 (Montgomery, Meiser etc) then it's just a single transfer to a short ride on bus 47 at Heembeek.

Address is 170 Chaussée de Vilvorde in 1120 Brussels and the website is www.royal1865.be.  Otherwise I'll be happy to give you further information - brusselsrower at gmail dotcom.
