Linz to Salzburg

Question

Hi,
I am planning a visit to Aistria (Salzburg and around).
However, the flights and trains are very costly.
Eurolines go to LINZ and WIEN.
How can I go from LINZ to Salzburg? Is it convenient? Thanks in advance,
A

According to the international section of the Belgian Railways website, there are frequent trains (every 30 minutes or so) from Linz to Salzburg. Journey time is just over an hour so I can't imagine that it is very costly.

a) Eurolines to Munich + train special Bayern ticket (up to 5 persons / 1 ticket) to Salzburg, even this is in Austria, this special ticket is valid.
look also www.tripadvisor.com > Germany for more info.

b) with a bit of ahead planning for cheap train tickets
1) ICE train ticket Brussels - Aachen and Aachen - Brussels
2) Deutsche Bahn 'Europa Spezial ticket' Aachen - Salzburg - Aachen (starts from 29 EUR www.bahn.de ( turn to English)
