LGBT organisations to stage kiss-in outside Russian embassy

Various lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) organisations are staging a ‘kiss-in’ this Sunday at 15.00 outside the Russian embassy in Brussels, as a mark of support for the victims of president Putin's policy of oppression. The event, called ‘To Russia With Love’,  is organised in Brussels jointly by Outrage!, Rainbowhouse Brussels, çavaria, CHEFF and BGS, but will also take place simultaneously in 50 cities in 27 countries. "With this 'kiss-in’, we wish to convey the message to the Russian victims of oppression that we will take advantage of any opportunity to confront their government with their responsibility to protects its citizens against violence and discrimination,” explains Björn Pius from Outrage!. A similar event was held in front of the Russian consulate in Antwerp at the beginning of August, with a turnout of between 300 and 500.
