Kittens?

Get one from a shelter. There is a shelter somewhere in WSP especially for cats.
I am sure one of the volunteers will respond to you during the day.

Agree a shelter kitten or cat is great. A cat really has a natural personality and being raised with or without a family doesn't really factor. Our cat was from a shelter and he is the friendliest, best behaved cat out of any of our circle of friends.

Side note - I was browsing the Small ads and someone - Downsizing sale - has a cat dishes and mat - maybe a litter box - for really cheap. And they say they deliver. Could be worth looking into.

Check with your local vet. He should know of recent litters in your neighbourhood. And consider taking two - they would be company for each other.
