Keeping children amused in Brussels

The marché de noel is open on 1st January for the last day. There is the ice rink, Ice Monster, toboggan run. Or if the weather is bad, there is Poseidon ice rink in WSL.

I can't see a whole lot of child-oriented things on www.quefaire.be but there is an advert for Circus Pauwels at the old hippodrome de Boitsfort.

Museums tend to be closed Mondays. Worth going to are the Musée des Sciences Naturelles, Musée des jouets, Musée des Enfants. Technopolis in Mechelen is excellent, all in Dutch for performances though.
