job interview - pay slip?

Question

Hello,

I have been invited to Brussels for some job interviews within the IT consulting sector, now I have been asked for my salary expections and also asked to state my current salary. I was told that I would be asked to hand in my latest pay slip from my current employer - is this a normal procedure in Belgium?

I would greatly appreciate your insight on this! Thanks!

Mimi

Asking for expectations is appropriate. Asking for current salary seems inappropriate. Asking for the salary slip is way way over.

No, it is not normal.

> IT consulting sector
Freelance through an agency? They are trying to get you rate down as low as possible so they can cream a huge margin off you. Common scam, and unfortunately one which you can't do much about once you've signed up.

What companies? Do you have job descriptions from the companies themselves or just from the one agency?

> salary exceptions
I can probably give you an idea of what your going rate should be.
- Give a very brief overview of your skillset and experience.
- Permanent or freelance?
