My friend cannot travel to Paris by train (Thalys). Ticket is non transferable.
Is it possible to travel on his ticket, under his name. Day return

They don't always check the name on the ticket, so yes, it's possible. If they do check, though, you're in for a hefty fine.
Just travelled yesterday to Paris. They did not check names...
Maybe it works: dress smart ;).
