iPhone 6 goes on sale in Belgium
Several hundred new iPhone 6 smartphones went on sale at midnight last night Friday in three Belgian towns. Apple smartphone fans lined up in Antwerp, Liège and Brussels to buy the latest model at specially arranged evening events run by mobile operators Mobistar and Base. Base had 500 iPhone 6 smartphones on sale whereas Mobistar only had 150 smartphones on offer at the three shops where the event took place.
From this morning, 26 September, iPhone 6 will go on sale in normal retail outlets. But be warned: it will still be difficult to lay your hands on the new model as initial stocks are limited and will only appear on the shelves on a gradual basis.
On Tuesday, Apple announced that it had sold more than 10 million new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones during its first weekend of sales (19-21 September), a new company record.
In Belgium, an iPhone 6 will cost between €699 and €899, depending on the model selected.
