Invisible Satellite dishes

Question

Sometime ago I saw something on this website about so-called "invisible" satellite dishes. Are they as efficient as normal ones, what is it that makes them hard to see, and where can I buy one, please? Thanks!

From the archives

Actually they are not hard to see, but their shape is unconventional (like a square or rectangular flat box), which translates into seeing something that does not look like a dish, which could be less intrusive. Supposedly by painint them the color of the waall behind them they become less intrusive. I don't know about how effective they are but I imaagine less so than conventional dishes. In the end it depends on how big the 'dish' and which satellites you want. Sorry, I can't help there.
