international school payments

Question

Hello dear All, I have a question: our son is a student at an international school. Can we charge part/all of the tuition to our SPRL (limited company) in Belgium?? I would appreciate any info and advice on this. My thinking was: corporations pay for their staff kids in intl. schools. Can an SPRL do the same? And under what conditions? thank you. A.

If you speak with the relevant personnel at your son's school, you may indeed find that they will offer some reduction as you are paying the fees yourself. We have kids at an International school here, and I do know a few parents there who pay fees themselves and have a fee reduction. You do have to go along and enquire about it though, they don't shout it from the rooftops. Totally understand why you wouldn't want to send your son to local after 7 years in International (mine would never forgive me if I did that, so I never will!)

Your son will make it in a local school, even after 7 years of international school. Many other kids have done it before him. And your son will hate you many more times for things you do. Of course, you are the one paying the bills, so you are the one deciding if you really want your money spent on expensive international schools... My kids have been in private international schools, the European school, and public schools. They have been to bilingual schools, French schools and now Flemish schools. They are both thriving.
