International license

Question

Hello:
I am about to buy a car here in Belgium
I have a chilean driver's licence and an international driving license.
My question is, being registered in the commune I know I can not drive any longer with my chilean license, but can I drive with the international?
Thanks.

Ps. I am already studying to get my BE license.

The international permit simply acts as a translation of the Chilean. It does not permit you to drive here if your Chilean license is invalid.
If you need to double check, ask your insurers. The average Belgian police officer might not know whether a Chilean license is valid but, if you have an accident and your insurers will not cover you, that is it.
