Injured - what to do?

Question

Hi. I have a gash on my head that I think needs stitches. How does this work here - can I just take myself to the nearest hospital as I would in the UK? I presume I'll be charged, but that's not the question really - do Belgian hospitals have the equivalent of a casualty department? is what I'm asking I suppose. I'm in Etterbeek, Brussels.

Thanks

Greg

Me

the casualty is usually called 'Urgents'.

You just show up and tell the desk whats wrong, they take your details- residency/ID card and insurance card.

You then wait until called- usually quicker than UK

After they will send you a bill.
