Injured Benteke to miss World Cup

Belgian striker Christian Benteke will sit out the World Cup in Brazil this summer. The 23-year-old Aston Villa striker tore his Achilles tendon during practice yesterday and must undergo surgery. He is expected to be out of action for at least six months.
Benteke quickly became a permanent fixture under Belgium coach Marc Wilmots, scoring six times in 18 matches. Romelu Lukaku is his possible replacement as striker during the upcoming World Cup.
