A bus driver in Flanders has been called a hero after a video appeared on social media of the man running to save an elderly woman who had fallen on train tracks.

The impressive video of the heroic act, which was posted on Twitter on 25 November, shows the bus driver saving the life of the lady who had fallen off her bicycle on to the tracks in Loppem, West Flanders.

In the footage, filmed from a dashboard camera, the man sees the cyclist struggling to recover from her bad fall and rushes to pull her clear of the tracks before a train comes. The driver manages to pull the lady and her bicycle out of harm’s way just as the crossing lights turn red.
